SAM McELWEE...

Is an award winning photographer who grew up in rural Australia & now works from his base in London.

Whether he is on stage taking Lionel Ritchie's portrait or spending the day with the awe-inspiring Erica from Surbiton, everyone he meets is a career highlight. Uncovering the characters of all the people who sit for him, whilst making them feel quickly at ease, is key to his portraiture. 

No matter if he is up to his chest in the freezing Icelandic ocean with a -18 degree wind chill or battling blistering heat, Sam will always find the humour in any situation. A characteristic you can see through much of his work.

He always has a personal project on the go, but can be found running head on at any commercial brief that comes his way with the same amount of excitement and dedication. Always following his love of photography where ever it takes him.
